Mixer

The mixer balances tracks and routes them to groups, buses, and Main. Select a strip to show its devices.

Track strip

• Fader and Pan set level and position.
• Sends feed buses A and B.
• The numbered button mutes. S solos. R arms.
• The output selector routes to Main or a group.
• The colored cells launch the track's patterns. Double-click the name badge for the piano roll.

Level, pan, and sends belong to the pattern. Launch each variation and check its own balance.

Sends and buses

A send copies part of a track to a shared bus while the track still plays dry.

1. Select Bus A or B and add an effect, usually reverb or delay set fully wet.
2. Back on a track, raise the matching send.
3. Watch the bus and Main meters.

Groups

1. Select a track. Shift-click for a range or Command-click to add strips.
2. Press Command-G, or choose Group Tracks from the context menu.
3. Select the group to see its strip and devices.

A group sums its members and adds shared level and processing. Members keep their own patterns and devices. Collapse a group to hide them. Right-click the group to rename or ungroup.

Group effects

Select the group itself, then add from Audio FX. A compressor on the group hears the whole kit; a compressor on a member hears one drum. Balance the members before compressing the group.

Who recalls what

Track settings follow patterns. Bus and group settings follow scenes. To give the chorus a different group sound, select the chorus scene first. See Patterns and scenes.
