Samples and sounds
- Samples are audio files for a sampler.
- Sounds are saved track setups.
- Kits are saved drum racks.
- Instruments are generators and rack types.
- Presets are settings for the selected instrument.
Find a sample
Open Samples and search, or click tag chips such as kick, snare, or a collection name. Factory and Yours split shipped and personal collections.
Selecting a sample shows its waveform. The headphone button auditions samples as you move through them.
Load a sampler
Drag a sample onto Drop sounds here for a new track, or onto a track to replace its sound. Dropping a sample on a synth track turns it into a sampler.
Enter a step and play. Transpose changes pitch; the sampler's envelope and playback controls shape the hit.
Import your own
- Drag audio files or a folder from Finder onto the window.
- Review the staged tree: ready, already in the library, and failed.
- Add a batch tag for the whole import, such as the collection name.
- Select a folder or file to give it extra tags or a title.
- Click Import.
Importing adds files to the library. Loading is a separate step. For several drums, build a Drum Rack rather than replacing one sampler repeatedly.
Sounds and kits
Save a track's setup as a Sound, or a drum rack as a Kit, to reuse it in other projects. Drag a preset onto the Sounds tab to promote it to a Sound. Loading a Sound or Kit replaces what is on the selected track.
